A new day, another one that I have no voice. Turned in the paperwork for Short Term Medical Leave and also FMLA - Family Medical Leave Act today into our Human Resources department. I hope to God I get approved. We asked for a month. Becky, the lady we turned the forms into, she looked a little shocked, because I asked for that amount of time off. Chris told her that my doctor wanted at least 30days. The maximum for short term leave is 90days. We doubt, at this point that we'll extend it. But if the Laryngitis doesn't clear up within a week, I will have to see a specialist and find out whats up with my throat. In the meantime, the first 14 days of the short term, we won't get paid, but the 15th day to the 30th we will, but only 60%. Isn't much, but hey its better than nothing.

Chris still wants me to look for a job, just in case I can't handle it at NEW. They are getting a very bad rap here in town. They have over 600 employees. Chris is thinking that they are planning about the same thing as Cendent. Hire up a lot of employees, and when it comes up very expensive to pay them, move to another state where it is cheaper: Wyoming. Chris and I almost moved there last Spring. Almost. Within a day of making the call, we received a call from NEW wanting Chris to work there, here in town. So we stayed.

About an hour ago I woke up from my short nap. I was sweating like a pig. I took my temperature, only 98.7. WTF?!? I had a fan on high right at me while I was sleeping. I don't get it.
